The Community Liaison Network Page

The Community Liaison Network (CLN) is a means of using key contacts, electronic networking and newsletters to share information about the Conference with the HIV/AIDS community around the globe.

NEW! Six topic-related listservers are now accessible from this page.

The focus for these electronic discussion forums has been selected by the global NGO networks organizing the Community Rendez-Vous and related Symposia sessions in Geneva, and will cover:
  • Human rights
  • Immigration and HIV/AIDS
  • Networking among PLWHIV/AIDS
  • Sex work
  • Access to treatment and care
  • Community-based research
  • and an information service for journalists/media organizations.

Join in the discussions around issues and themes that will mark the Community Rendez-vous this summer in Geneva. Register now on the Web or on e-mail.

CLN Mandate:

The CLN will work to

  • Provide global input to the Conference Planning Committee and the Community Rendez-Vous;
  • Spread information world-wide about the development of the Community Aspects of the programme for the 12th World AIDS Conference as a whole;
  • Create a structure that will enable post-Conference continuity in the maintenance of networks created or strengthened in the Conference process.

Florian Hübner (left) of the LCC, who has been one of the CLN's most active promoters locally, and Peter Busse, Key Correspondent and one of the Community Organisers for Durban 2000, share ideas during a CPC meeting in Geneva.

The CLN is comprised of three parts:

1. Newsletter

The CLN will publish a quarterly newsletter, "
Le Pont" for Community participants, keeping them abreast of the Conference process and of developments in issues programmed for the Conference. The first edition of "Le Pont" will be circulated world-wide in October 97. The second issue will circulate in April 1998.
